Keep the Music Coming

Loyola’s graduates are known for numerous accomplishments. Alumnus Kenneth Bryan ’99 (a.k.a. KYNT) is no exception to the standard. International chart-topping vocalist, model, and top-notch performer are just a few accolades on his resume. He’s worked with industry giants such as producers Klubjumpers and Cesar Vilo and receives airplay in South America and Europe. Now he can add a record deal with Jerome Farley’s Continuous Cool Records to the list.

A native New Orleanian, KYNT cites his upbringing and college experience as contributors to his success.

“I knew I wanted to sing after seeing the Rhythm Nation tour,” he says. “Some of my biggest influences are Janet [Jackson], Michael [Jackson], and Whitney [Houston].”

While in foster care at the Methodist Home, KYNT was allowed to sing only if his grades were good, giving him more motivation. Once he arrived at Loyola, he discovered his love for dance.

“I was looking for a three-credit class to fill my schedule,” he says. “Gayle Parmelee approached me about taking a ballet class and I decided to do it.”

KYNT credits Loyola’s dance program for teaching him dedication and loyalty. “We live in such a competitive environment,” he says. “Dance taught me artistry…gave me confidence in teaching and other things I needed to succeed.”

As an alumnus, KYNT is still an active member of the dance community. He has returned as a guest artist and taught Hip-Hop classes on campus.

KYNT’s latest album, The Whole World Is A Stage, was released on iTunes in November 2011. His newest single, “Right Now!,” was released worldwide March 8, 2012, under Continuous Cool. Singles “One Day,” “Snake Charmer,” and “Never Let You Go” have made a splash on the music scene as well.
